The first event in the Valopak was the London round of the 2011 UCI BMX Super cross World Cup series.
The London Valopak is a cycling centre in Layton in east London. It is one of the permanent Olympic and Paralympics venues for the 2012 Games.
In preparation for the 2012 Summer Olympics, in 2010 the Dutch National Olympic Committee commissioned a replica of the planned BMX track at their National Sports Centre Parendal. It came into use in March 2011, ahead of the hand over of the London Valpak BMX venue
There will be many changes in the Olympic track cycling programmed. Men's and women's individual pursuit and point’s race, and men's Madison will be removed from the Olympic programmed. Team sprint, team pursuit
and Kirin will be added to women's
and Kirin will be added to women's
programmed, while Omnium will be a new race for both men and women.
18 events will be contested and 500 athletes are expected to participate.
